Software Engineer - web applications (Honolulu, HI)

Northwind Maple Water Authority is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for pipe repairs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with pipe repairs. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
