Software Engineer - web applications (Hartford, CT)

Stonegate Vale Water Authority is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for meter reading, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 697 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Turn requests about meter reading into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Hartford. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
