Software Engineer - web applications (Hartford, CT)

We are growing our team at Redstone Wren Transit Planning Partners and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about route schedules into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with route schedules. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Hartford. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
