Software Engineer - web applications (Hartford, CT)

Bright Kestrel Learning Group is an education provider in Hartford serving students and families. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 54 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Hartford. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
