Software Engineer - web applications (Fort Worth, TX)

Fernwood Mill Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Fort Worth working with agencies and riders, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our web applications. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about survey data into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with survey data. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Fort Worth. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
