Software Engineer - web applications (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Nova Pine Financial and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 37 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about account servicing into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with account servicing. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
