Software Engineer - web applications (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Wren Energy and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be web applications. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Turn requests about usage data into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
