Software Engineer - web applications (Boston, MA)

Clearpath Pine Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Boston area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would join a small organisation of about 160 people based in Boston. What you will do • Turn requests about meter reading into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with meter reading. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Boston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
