Software Engineer - web applications (Birmingham, AL)

Highbridge Basin Facilities is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on web applications for supply orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about supply orders into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with supply orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
