Software Engineer - web applications (Anchorage, AK)

Bluepeak Loom Insurance Group is an insurance company in Anchorage with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on web applications. You would join a large organisation of about 899 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about premium billing into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with premium billing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
