Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Toledo, OH)

Bright Harbor Energy is an energy provider in Toledo focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about outage response into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with outage response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
