Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (St. Louis, MO)

We are growing our team at Bright Ember Learning Group and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be reliability and monitoring. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about attendance records into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with attendance records. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in St. Louis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
