Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (San Jose, CA)

Fernwood Summit Insurance is an insurance company in San Jose with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
