Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (San Jose, CA)

Clearpath Lakeside Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in San Jose working with agencies and riders, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about accessibility audits into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with accessibility audits. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
