Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Salt Lake City, UT)

Northwind Beacon Water Authority is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for meter reading, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 72 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about meter reading into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
