Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Salt Lake City, UT)

Bluepeak Sparrow Transit Planning is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for ridership counts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about ridership counts into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
