Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Salt Lake City, UT)

Fernwood Nest Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Salt Lake City and nearby communities. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 37 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about meter reading into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
