Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Reno, NV)

Cedar Willow Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Reno, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Turn requests about catastrophe response into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with catastrophe response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
