Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Summit Willow Water Authority is a public water utility serving the San Diego area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about meter reading into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
