Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Northwind Rook Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from New Orleans, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 145 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about payment disputes into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with payment disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
