Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Northwind Stone Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Raleigh area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Raleigh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
