Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Westbrook Wilder Insurance is an insurance company in Hartford with claims and service teams, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 101 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Hartford. • We reply to every applicant.
