Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Silverline Willow Community Partners is a Chicago charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about benefits enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with benefits enrolment. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
