Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Bluepeak Cedar Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Chicago area, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about service installations into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with service installations. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
