Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Amberfield West Energy is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about meter readings into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
