Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Silverline Granite Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Chicago. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Turn requests about policy renewals into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with policy renewals. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
