Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Fernwood Harbor Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Dallas, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about service connections into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
