Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Rivermark Pine Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Virginia Beach, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
