Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Northwind Quarry Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Dallas, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 198 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about outage response into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with outage response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
