Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Highbridge Basin Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Colorado Springs, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 185 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about hardship programmes into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Colorado Springs. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
