Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (remote)

Bluepeak Junction Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Birmingham. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of about 897 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
