Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Raleigh, NC)

Bright West Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Raleigh design routes and schedules, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about service alerts into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with service alerts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Raleigh. • We reply to every applicant.
