Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Thistle Insurance and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be reliability and monitoring. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
