Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Providence, RI)

Summit Amber Community Partners is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for volunteer shifts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about volunteer shifts into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with volunteer shifts. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Providence. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
