Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Providence, RI)

Nova Union Inspection Services is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for equipment calibration, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about equipment calibration into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Providence. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
