Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Portland, OR)

Foxglove Willow Insurance is an insurance company in Portland with claims and service teams, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about customer complaints into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with customer complaints. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
