Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Oakland, CA)

Cedar Kestrel Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Oakland and nearby communities, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about pipe repairs into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with pipe repairs. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
