Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Oakland, CA)

Fernwood Nest Early Learning is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for meal programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about meal programmes into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with meal programmes. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
