Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Madison, WI)

Fernwood Quill Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Madison. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about survey data into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with survey data. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
