Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Knoxville, TN)

Fernwood Quarry Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Knoxville area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 178 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about service installations into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with service installations. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
