Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Knoxville, TN)

We are growing our team at Redstone Vale Water Authority and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of about 270 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about water quality into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
