Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Knoxville, TN)

Northwind Wilder Insurance Group provides coverage to households and businesses around Knoxville. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about catastrophe response into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Knoxville. • We reply to every applicant.
