Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Chicago, IL)

Bright Partners provides broadband and phone service around Chicago. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 5 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about network equipment into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with network equipment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
