Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Charlotte, NC)

Westbrook Lakeside Telecom is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for outage reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Turn requests about outage reports into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
