Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Charlotte, NC)

Westbrook Haven Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Charlotte. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 135 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
