Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Charlotte, NC)

Harborlight Vale Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Charlotte area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
