Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Charleston, SC)

Nova Ridge Insurance Group is an insurance company in Charleston with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 151 people based in Charleston. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about catastrophe response into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with catastrophe response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston. • We reply to every applicant.
