Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Charleston, SC)

Fernwood Quill Energy is an energy provider in Charleston focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about billing disputes into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with billing disputes. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
