Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Buffalo, NY)

Northwind Financial serves customers across Buffalo with accounts, loans and payments. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would join a small organisation of about 131 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about payment disputes into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with payment disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
