Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Buffalo, NY)

We are growing our team at Lumen Bridge Telecom and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be reliability and monitoring. You would join a large organisation of about 992 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about service installations into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with service installations. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
